Renewing, editing, or correcting a pledge

How to renew a pledge with a non-overlapping date range, edit pledges and pledge accounts, and correct a gift recorded to the wrong fund.

Pledges in Gracely are flexible: you can edit them, renew them for a new period, and fix gifts that landed on the wrong fund. Here's how each works.

"This member already has an active pledge with this fund"

A member can't be added to a pledge for the same fund while they already have one covering an overlapping date range. When that happens, you'll see the message "This member has already active pledge with this fund" and the Add Pledge button is disabled.

This is expected, it just prevents two overlapping commitments to the same fund at the same time.

Renewing a pledge for a new period

To let a member pledge to that same fund again once their current pledge period ends, create a new pledge account with a non-overlapping date range. As long as the dates don't overlap the previous pledge, Gracely will accept it and the member is pledged for the new period.

For the full setup, see How to Create Pledges for Members.

Editing a pledge

Both pledges and pledge accounts are editable. Open the one you want and click Edit to update its details.

Correcting a gift on the wrong fund

If a gift was recorded against the wrong fund, you can fix it without deleting anything. Open the person's Giving tab, click Edit on the giving record, and change the Fund. (Giving records can also be deleted if you'd rather re-enter one.)

To review or reorganize the funds you're assigning gifts to, see How to create, edit, and archive funds.
