Who can see my contact info in the church directory?

A member-facing FAQ explaining who can see your directory entry, the opt-out model, per-field control, and where to change it.

Short answer: only signed-in members of your church can see your directory entry — and you decide which details appear. Here's how it works.

Who can see your information

  • Your directory entry is visible only to other signed-in members of your church.

  • It is never public, and it is never shared with other churches.

  • Your church admins can always see your contact details in the dashboard, regardless of your directory settings.

What's shown by default

The directory is opt-out: once your church turns the directory on, your photo, email, phone, and address are visible to other members by default. You only need to do something if you'd like to hide one or more of those fields.

You control each field separately:

  • Photo

  • Email

  • Phone

  • Address

So you could, for example, share your email but hide your phone number and address.

How to change what you share

On the My Gracely app (recommended):

  1. Open the My Gracely app and go to the Profile tab.

  2. Tap Edit details.

  3. Turn each toggle on to share that detail or off to hide it.

  4. Tap Save.

On the web portal:

⚠️ Note: The web member portal doesn't have these toggles yet. To change your visibility, use the My Gracely app, or ask your church admin to update it for you — they can adjust your contact and photo visibility from your profile in the dashboard.

What happens when you hide a field

  • Hide your phone → other members can't see your number, and the Call and Text buttons disappear from your card.

  • Hide your email → the Email button disappears.

  • Hide your address → the Map button disappears.

  • Hide your photo → your card shows your initials instead.

Your hidden details are stripped out before the directory ever reaches anyone else's device, so other members never receive them.
