This article explains how to control what other members can see about you in the My Gracely member directory.
What other members can see by default
When your church turns on the Member Directory, other members can see your photo, email, phone number, and address by default. You're always in control, you can hide any of these at any time.
đĄ Tip: This is opt-out: everything is shared until you turn it off. If you'd rather keep something private, switch the relevant toggle off.
How to change what you share
Open the app and tap More.
Tap your name at the top to open your profile, then tap to edit your details.
Find the directory visibility toggles:
Allow other church members to see my photo in the member directory
Allow other church members to see my email in the member directory
Allow other church members to see my contact number in the member directory
Allow other church members to see my address in the member directory
Switch off anything you'd rather keep private, then save.
What happens when you hide a field
The hidden detail is removed before it ever reaches another member's phone, it isn't just hidden on screen.
The matching action button disappears too:
Hide your phone â no Call or SMS button.
Hide your email â no Email button.
Hide your address â no Map button.
Your church staff can still see your full details in the admin dashboard, this only affects the member directory.
â ď¸ Note: These toggles are in the My Gracely app (and your church admin can also adjust them for you). The web member portal doesn't currently have these toggles, so if you only use the web portal, manage your visibility in the app or ask your church admin.
Can my whole church turn the directory off?
Yes. Your church controls whether the directory is available at all under Settings â Church â Defaults â "Portal Member Directory." The directory turns on for all churches on June 30, 2026.
