What happens when I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

What to expect when upgrading, downgrading, or switching billing cycles in Gracely.

Changing plans in Gracely is quick and takes effect from Settings → Subscription. Here's what to expect.

Upgrading

When you move to a higher plan (for example Free → Standard, or Standard → Pro):

  • Your new plan activates immediately and shows as your Current Plan.

  • The features included in that plan unlock right away — for example, online giving and the church portal on Standard, or accounting and the form builder on Pro.

  • You're charged for the new plan based on your billing cycle (monthly or annual).

Downgrading

When you move to a lower plan:

  • Your church keeps access until the change takes effect, then features that belong only to the higher plan become unavailable.

  • Your data is not deleted — for example, accounting records or forms remain stored. You simply lose the ability to use those higher-plan features until you upgrade again.

  • If you're over a lower plan's limit (such as the number of users or the monthly email allowance), you may need to reduce usage to fit the new plan.

⚠️ Note: Downgrading can hide features that staff rely on (giving, accounting, the portal). Let your team know before changing plans.

Switching billing cycle (monthly ↔ annual)

You can switch between Billed monthly and Billed annually on the Subscription page. Annual billing costs less per month than monthly.

Tips

  • Compare what each plan includes before changing — see Understanding Gracely Plans.

  • Only an Administrator can change the plan (the Subscription/billing area requires that permission).
