Setting Account Defaults in Church Settings

Gracely now allows you to configure account-wide default settings.

This article walks you through how to set up:

  • Default pronouns and gender options

  • Age group defaults

  • Localization settings

  • Communication preferences

Default Person Settings

Default Pronouns

Automatically populate the pronoun field when adding a new person. Choose from:

  • He/Him

  • She/Her

  • They/Them

  • ➕ Add Custom Pronoun

You can turn this option on or off anytime.

Gender Options

Select a preset list of gender values for person profiles:

  • Simple: Male, Female, Unspecified

  • Expanded: Adds “Prefer Not to Say”

  • Full List: Adds Non-binary, Transgender, Gender non-conforming, Other

You can still override gender selections on individual profiles.

Default Gender

Set the default gender that will be pre-selected when adding a new person.

Age Groups

Enable/disable age groups for categorizing people. You can toggle these:

  • Child

  • Adult

  • Elder

You can also define the default age group for new person profiles.

Localization Settings

Default Currency

Set your preferred currency for use across giving, funds, events, and forms.
Example: USD, CAD, GBP, EUR

Currency Format

Choose how your currency appears. Example:

  • en-US ($1,234.56)

  • fr-FR (1 234,56 €)

Timezone

Applies to all events, reminders, calendar views, and communication schedules.
Example: America/Bogota (UTC-05:00)

Communication Settings

Default Country Code

Set the default country code for phone numbers when adding new people.
Example: +1 United States, +44 United Kingdom

Saving Your Settings

Once all default values are set, scroll down and click “Save Settings” to apply changes across your church account.

📝 Notes

  • These settings can be adjusted anytime from Church Settings > Defaults.

  • Defaults help maintain clean and consistent records across your church database.

  • They do not overwrite existing data—only pre-fill fields for new entries.
