Using Kiosk Mode for Event Check-In & Check-Out

Kiosk Mode allows your church members to quickly and securely check themselves into events, enhancing convenience and maintaining safety.

Kiosk Mode turns a tablet or PC into a self-serve station where attendees check themselves in and out by phone number or QR code. Here's how to set it up and use it.

Activating Kiosk Mode

  1. Go to the Calendar and open the event.

  2. On the Attendees tab, click Check in.

  3. In the check-in screen, click Kiosk Mode.

  4. In the Enter Kiosk Mode dialog, set a PIN (at least 4 characters) and click Start Kiosk Mode. The PIN keeps the kiosk secure so only your team can exit kiosk mode or manage the station.

In Enter Kiosk Mode, ① type a PIN of at least 4 characters, then ② click Start Kiosk Mode.

Using Kiosk Mode

Once active, attendees have two ways to check in and out.

The kiosk screen. ① Attendees type their phone number on the keypad, or ② tap Scan QR Code. ③ Request Exit asks for the PIN.

Phone number

  1. The attendee enters their registered phone number on the on-screen keypad (matched on the last 10 digits, so the country code doesn't matter).

  2. The kiosk shows their name under Matching Members.

  3. They press Check in to arrive, or Check out when leaving.

QR code

  1. The attendee taps Scan QR Code and presents the QR code they received when registering through your Church Portal.

  2. The kiosk recognizes them instantly.

  3. The kiosk checks them in, or checks them out if they were already checked in.

⚠️ Note: This is the attendee's personal registration QR code. It's different from the event's Fast check-in QR code, which people scan with their own phone. You don't need a kiosk for that.

Good to know

  • The PIN keeps the kiosk locked to your team.

  • Kiosk Mode works for both adults and children, at free and paid events alike.

  • Make sure the kiosk device has a working camera so it can scan QR codes.

⚠️ Note: The secure child flow at the kiosk (guardian-matched pickup codes and printed labels) only runs when the event has secure child check-in enabled and your church is on the Pro plan or an active trial. Otherwise children check in plainly with no labels.
