When members give online, the money is collected by your payment processor (Stripe or PayPal) and then paid out to your church's bank account. Gracely records the gift — but the payout timing is set by your processor, not by Gracely.
Where the money goes
A member gives through your portal or the My Gracely app.
Stripe or PayPal collects the payment and deducts its processing fee.
Your processor pays out the funds to the bank account connected to your Stripe or PayPal account.
Typical timing
Stripe: payouts usually arrive on a rolling schedule — commonly 2 business days after a payment for established accounts, with a longer hold on your first payout while the account is verified. Your exact schedule (daily, weekly, or monthly) is set in your Stripe Dashboard.
PayPal: funds typically land in your PayPal balance quickly, and you withdraw to your bank from there (or set up automatic withdrawals). Bank transfers from PayPal usually take 1–3 business days.
How to check or change your payout schedule
Payout schedules and connected bank accounts are managed in your processor's dashboard, not in Gracely:
Stripe: Stripe Dashboard → Settings → Payouts.
PayPal: your PayPal account → Wallet / Withdraw.
Good to know
Processing fees are deducted before payout, so the amount that hits your bank is the gift total minus fees. Your default online giving fee is 2.9% + $0.30 per gift unless your church has selected a different rate.
Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks can affect a payout amount — see your processor for details.
Payout timing has no effect on your Gracely records: gifts appear in Contributions → Giving as soon as they're processed, regardless of when the money reaches your bank.
